Reno-Tahoe Textures (coming Fall 2026)

About This Project

Reno–Tahoe Textures — Reno, NV — 2026 (In progress)

Reno–Tahoe Textures is a large-scale public art installation commissioned by the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority as part of its Arts at the Airport program. Currently in development, this site-specific public artwork will transform the Loop Road experience at Reno-Tahoe International Airport through a series of illuminated sculptural panels.

The installation consists of map-inspired artworks that reference defining features of the region, including Truckee Meadows,  Mt. Rose, Lake Tahoe, and Black Rock City.

Installed beneath the five large Loop Road canopies, the panels use programmed lighting to create a sense of motion—engaging travelers as they move through the space. Blending landscape and infrastructure, the work translates regional identity into a pattern of light and movement. The result is an environment that  travelers to their destination through an evolving, immersive experience.

Commissioned through a competitive RFQ process, Reno–Tahoe Textures reflects Orlando’s approach to public art and large-scale sculpture—creating site-responsive works that integrate storytelling, engineering, and placemaking within shared civic environments. The installation is scheduled for Fall 2026.
